On the edge.

One week until my vacation begins. Although I am heading into the city heat of NYC this little anthropologie road trip video inspired me to do a little teaser adventure today and visit my parents camping on the beach at San Elijo. My summers as a child were spent camping and hiking around this campground and cardiff beaches.

Space invaders.

Although I adore the apartment I moved into this past June I have recently been craving space. For a garden, an outdoor eating space, flowers, and vitamin D. It's easy enough to walk to the park but there is something special about being able to grow your own herbs, and entertain in your own outdoor haven.
I love the last picture from Designsponge, such an easy and great DIY.

Monday is..

Calm, quiet, puppies napping, second Sunday.

Yesterday I finally saw Midnight in Paris, the newest Woody Allen film. I adored it. Apart from the cast of stunners I just loved the imagery and simplicity of it.

The rest of the day was filled with good food, great coffee and a trip to the dog park.
Today is my second Sunday. I am off to go enjoy it.

Out of my Ordinary.

As I swooned over rugs and renovations in the September issue of Elle Decor I found the Pacific Heights home of Alexis and Trevor Traina to be really interesting. Far from the simplicity of my personal style some of the elements really raised my heart rate.

Slow business

My ever growing love of the morning wasn't always what I would consider a love. It started with a fear I would wake up late which in turn resulted in rising ten minutes before my alarm. On days off I would get anxious that I needed to squeeze every last minute out of every day doing fun things and enjoying my days off as if my working days were torture. They went a bit like this... cleaning the house, washing my car, walk the dogs, grocery shopping, going to the bank, fitting in a pilates class, painting my nails now it's 6 pm and I must make dinner but I forgot the eggs and the laundry is not folded both of which will ruin my nails. In the back of my head thinking about if I had only set my alarm for an hour earlier it would have all been done.
I constantly consider spending my days "off" sleeping in with no alarm, sipping coffee in bed until noon and recovering from the bottle of wine I had the night before. Let's be honest I hope I can do that one day but for now I want to be productive on these free days. These images have helped inspire keeping my busy mornings calm.
